Hey gang, I have one chook who isn't very happy at the moment. She's still active, eating and drinking (seems to be drinking a lot of water lately, more than normal) but she has lost colour from her combs. She 'might' still be laying but I'm not 100% on that, seems to be scratching with her be...
Hey gang. I have nice large Zucchini plant growing ATM and while it does have a few Zucchinis on it they are only growing to around 15cm long and then they start to shrivel up. Any idea what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
Hey gang, long time no post. :)
Given current events I am focusing a bit more on food security at the moment and have decided raised beds are the way to go (after weighing up the notion of buying a rotary hoe V raised beds). I already have a couple of raised wicking beds but was after some...
So we've been buying activated nuts for years now but the price is getting a bit ridonculous. So has anyone tried it for themselves? Apparently it's not that hard, soak nuts in salted water overnight (but not so long for cashews) and then chuck them in the dehydrator. Will post pack after my...

OK so accidentally ordered a bag of buckwheat this week, I thought it was buckwheat flour but was the grains, so no good for my pancakes.

What say ye gardeners?
Just freshening up the 2 raised beds with some fresh soil/compost (not from the tip). Is it a good thing to dig in last years SC mulch or should I scrape it off and replace it after I've dug the new soil in?
Just came across this and thought it was a neat idea, free cord from old softdrink bottles....not that any of us healthy types drink soft drink of course but I'm sure you could get some from the neighbours?

Thought I'd get some expert advice before I take it in to the shop. I've got a Makita DSC-6401 chainsaw which is about 18 months old and has been working fine. Starts every time and just goes like a champ. Was using it about a month ago and ran out of fuel, I'd finished the job I was doing so...
And by 'electric' I mean the sharpener not the chainsaw. :)
Any recommendations?
Bunnings have the Ozito brand for about $50 but I don;t mind paying a bit more for one with better quality.
Cheers
