Hey Mark, Just thought i'd check in to see how the Native bee hives are going. From memory Kevin took most hives away but you still have a couple there. Are they doing ok, growing etc?
I've removed the grass, turned the soil a bit and scattered some flower seeds. They've sprouted so all is going ok.
I've never had much luck with growing flowers. They grow but don't flower. If i buy full size plants they soon lose the flowers and don't grow new ones. If anyone has any tips i'd...

Hiyas, while I was at the local nursery they were telling me they purposely don't stock Dynamic Lifter because it contains Cadium, Lead and Mercury. They said they have talked to Yates and suggested they not use those things but Yates didn't want to listen.
I've googled it and it seems it does...
There's a new book out, Ag Guide Australian Native Bees. It covers a fair bit, a lot about Solitary Bees where most other books are all about Stingless Bees. My books just arrived and look pretty good. It may share a little information with Tim Heards book as he had some input but if you're a...
On my google travels I found this site: https://www.australianplantsonline.com.au/
I ordered a few plants last week and they just arrived. Posted on Monday, arriving Friday.
The plants seemed to be packed well and look healthy. I think they mainly sell these seedling type sizes, 20cm tall and...
Does anyone know if sawdust is ok to use on the garden? I make a fair bit of it and usually throw it out but I'm wondering if it could be useful for something.
It's mostly Cypress

I made this coffee table a month ago. It's another one of my million dollar ideas :whistles:
It's a bit of an ongoing project adding new different sized blocks takes a bit of time.
The idea is to have lots of different sized blocks in the center that you can move and jumble around to make...

I found that my bag of chook grain is now full of Grain Weevils! I thought they were ants at first so didn't worry about it. It seems they lay their eggs in the grain and then continue to multiply. Apparently you can kill them by freezing or heating the grain. Maybe on the next bag I should...

My Tahitian Lime Tree has some kind of bugs, anyone know what they are? They're only in one spot, i'm thinking i'll cut that branch off? (there's some ants there too but they're ok)
Just for a bit of fun I thought I'd post up my current project, getting ready for the xmas ski camp.
I think it's relevant to being self sufficient, with this same method you can build lots of things, like furniture for your house :maketinker:
A Wakeskate is similar to a Wakeboard but has no...
I assume everyone knows about this one, it's been all over the news recently and talked about on the net for a while.
It sounds like an ok idea. As usual I am skeptical about the whole thing. Things with lots of marketing always make me suspicious that they may not be as good as they say and...
I just read this from someone in native bee facebook group and thought I'd share.....
