What on earth is this .....

    Hi All,

    My wife spotted this growing on the edge of our lawn today. Never seen anything like it previously so thought I post a pic and ask the masses :)

    It is quit spongy and easily broke off when I prodded it. Any ideas ??

    Its a fungi!
    A member of the Star fungi family.
    Pretty little thing hey.
    Bit phallic but it is the fruiting body afterall! ;)
    Was it in the mulch?

    Fungi can be great to photograph, so many interesting ones.
