I saw this idea on a video i watched, i thought it looked good. The air is heated through glass and drawn up the shaft and in to the top box. The top box has the usual shelves where you place your food.

I'll add it to my list of things to do. Atleast if you made it on wheels you could move it around in the sun and put it away when finished.

I've seen different versions of these solar food dryers they can get to the size of a small room and I think they are great.

Naturally size and solar power are the main pluses but there are some obvious limitations like weather conditions, insects/rodent control, room to put it, build it, etc.

On wheels is a nice touch It's a worthy project perhaps you could weld one up out of a frame and tin sheeting?

i do like it, but i'm a bit concerned about the size it would have to be to be effective. It's still on my list though, needs more research. Yeah something made from all steel might be good for providing heat.

I thought my new dehydrator was huge but this takes the cake. LOL
The misses would definitely not approve I'm sure.
Cool idea though.

A little bit bigger and it could go in the tiny house dept.
