I miss seeing members photos in this section.

I'm wondering if you will be fixing the automation of this contest Mark?

Unfortunately, in order to fix this issue I'm going to have to completely uninstall this from our forum and reinstall the latest version - this will probably mean a loss of data (images) etc and past winners.

That is, we'll have to start again... nothing I can do as I can't risk corrupting the forum by installing this "different version" over the top.

The developers of this software have changed so the coding is now incompatible.

Fingers crossed I can get this new photo of the month working. :)

Oh WOW! That's very drastic action Mark. It was not my intention to throw a spanner in the works. o_O
I had no idea it might be a different system to all the other photos we load.
I like the way this forum works because its so simple to load some photos.
I like just simple things these days when it comes to web stuff.
I'm afraid age is having an effect on my web interaction now.
Too much other to do which all takes a little longer than it used to, so if the web stuff is not easy, I give it a miss.

I think all the photos will remain in the albums etc - I hope so.

The addon is practically identical so it will be as easy to use as the last one. The problem was the guys who made the last addon sold the business and the new owner had a different/improved way of writing the script which is no longer applicable to the one we currently have... this means there are no updates to keep it current and that's why it eventually broke as I continue to update the overall forum software.

I have to buy the latest addon and then install it to get further support - I like photo of the month - I think it will be worth it even if the winners history is erased.

I will hopefully get it done tonight or by tomorrow. :)

This is done, but it won't run until next month on the 1st then it will go for 21 days then 8 days of voting time to decide on the winner. Hopefully all will run smooth... :)

Wow, reading this Mark makes me realise how much work you put in behind the scenes to keep this forum running. I have absolutely no idea ho to even do a blog, let alone all the other bits you've got hanging off this. So thanks very much for your (largely unthanked) work. I'm sure we all appreciate it very much.

Actually, I've been feeling guilty lately because I haven't been able to get as much time here as I would have liked to because of maintenance behind the scenes, my content creation stuff (making videos, answering questions, and writing etc), property maintenance, and family commitments.

I'm hoping to clear out a backlog of work soon so I can interact more here...

Meanwhile, I see that the photo comp hasn't started automatically this month so I'll have to find out what the issue is!

@Mark It's ok to take care of business on other things when the need arises.
Sometimes you need to prioritise things.
All good mate.
