Have you taken some amazing shots with your mobile phone camera? This thread is specifically for those cool photos you have taken with just your humble phone camera and would like to share!

I thought this could be a fun photo thread - plus I've already taken a few crackers this year so I'm keen to see what you guys think... :)

I'll start it off with this image of a blue banded bee checking out a rosemary flower taken with my Samsung S5 (free hand).

awesome phone pics Mark, I just saw this thread  ... i'll have to look through some of mine. I think phones have taken over compact cameras for quality and handiness. I sold a compact camera because the phone had the same specs, and the phone has a big viewing screen and you always have it on you anyway.

Wow, these are amazing! I still have my old iPhone 4s (I keep thinking "I'll just wait for the newer model to come out....probably should just get a 6s now) I don't think the camera on the 4s could shoot anything like that.
Especially love the face on shot

Thanks guys! Well, for a totally awful photographer my phone camera certainly does make me look better :p

This "phone camera thing" has really came about recently for me due to Instagram. I decided to give Insta a go and because the app is more phone friendly to share images than desktop I have found myself snapping more images around the place on the phone and trying to get more creative.

Well one does need to own one of those phone thingys to do this one! :p

But I must say Mark that is exceptional shooting for someone who calls themselves 'awful'.
Particularly that you got such a sequence & the bee ignored you.
How close did you have to get?

Pretty close and I was really shooting from the hip so thankfully it was digital and not real film otherwise it would have cost me a fortune in wasted shots! :D

This isn't necessarily a great pic but it does show the 26 spotted ladybug eating an eggplant leaf and it was taken with my phone :)

Impressive for a phone camera isn't it.

Does the Samsung S5 have a Pro Mode, or can you manually set the focus?

I have no idea... I'm a complete duphas with cameras Stevo you know that! All I do is point it and hope :p But, you can get it to focus on a specific item (or "subject" as you pros call it) by tapping the screen on the phone. That also works in video mode.
