Every arvo once the major heat of the day has passed, I go out to the main flower garden and throw a bit of water around. I've got 5containers in that garden in which I grow some veg like salad things. But its the exercise I need mostly. The trees cast a good shade over that whole area so its very pleasant being outside for that hour.
Then I give the horses some carrots. Luckily they don't need feeding now for a few months so I don't have to carry or maneuver the weight of feed bins also.
But their feet are now 6wks since done last, so this means they are ready again. I use a cordless grinder while sitting on a milk crate. Being liberty trained, my horses will line themselves up for trimming which is all good and which I had trained them for.
But I never thought I would be so weak I couldn't pick up or hold the running grinder!
I originally had a 100mm disc cordless grinder which only had mild running force. But its batteries failed and I couldn't get new ones so I was forced to buy a larger 115mm cordless and it has a big back pressure and some twist force when turned on.
So that's my next challenge.
Looks like the best I can hope to regain is about 40% use of my right shoulder. Still not allowed to drive and will be dumped out of the HITH program in a week's time. Meaning no taxi support to get to hospital appointments down at SCUH, an hour drive from where I live. Or no help to get scripts from the chemist or buy groceries and carry them upstairs, etc.
They (govt bodies) give with one hand then take away again with the other! Not funny when you're the one caught in the middle. Last night I got caught in a catch22 situation where there was no way for me to get home from hospital because it was after midnight unless I paid for a private taxi ($160)! And the hospital claimed to be full and wouldn't let me stay, even in the ED. I had to thumb a ride from ambos who'd come down to sunshine coast hospital from north of my home and hope they would break regs to let me onboard for return trip. It was 4am by time I got home with PIC (iv)line bleeding yet again, but no way was I gunna let myself get caught in that situation again!
So now I'm risking letting the infection into my heart because its risky going all that way to the big hospital because if they finish with me after midnight, there's no way to get home and can't stay at the hospital. And the funding has been so significantly cut from the local Gympie hospital, they don't have anyone at night who can manage the PIC line. So if I went there by ambo, they would be forced to pass me onto the big hospital an hour away.
Something seriously wrong with the system!
As I wrote this post the power went out so all I can do is copy/save and come back to it in the morning.
With this new system Mark has in place and the fact I'm using the android tablet which doesn't truly ditch the web page, my post was still sitting here in the posting box. All I had to do was press 'post reply' and it was live! All good.
