Hi all, I thought I would share my method for making a nice fine potting soil.
All you need is a slotted plant tray. I have a few sitting around from when I've bought things from the nursery, but I think Bunnings sell them in the seed section.
You just dump a few handfuls of soil/compost into the top & shake it side to side like you are panning for gold. The small stuff falls through & any large pieces stay in the tray & can be returned to the compost.
Not as fancy or fast as the roller sifters, but it's free & gives you a great ab workout
I sift mine straight into the seedling trays.
Large pieces left over to go back into compost.
Nice loose, fine mix for the seeds to grow in.
