Hi, 'mikesbudget' here, new kid on the block.
I am about to embark on a Quail rearing & egg producing Home Hobby.
My question is:
Would growing micro greens make good fodder for Quail?
It seems to make sense to me, the greens grow in 7 to 10 days, and can
be as varied as you like. ie Wheat, Radish etc. and is full of protein &
vitamins. Plus, I can eat them too!
I wish to ensure that this fodder is not to strong for young Quail.
Answers from anyone who knows appreciated
Regards. 'mikesbudget'

I don't know much about baby quail. I have chickens, and would recommend, based on that limited experience, that anything you give them, while they are growing, just make sure you do it in moderation. Like all little kids, they will overeat the stuff that they like and not eat the stuff that is good for them! :) (BTW, I know a lady who raises quail, and she says they LOVE overgrown zucchini squash.)

Tried my quail on greens and they totally ignored it. Chickens were different however....

But rather than micro greens any fast growing more mature crop would do.

Thanks Davidwood, I am surprised. maybe a bit strong for them. Interesting observation of yours David,
'more mature crops' it makes sense that Peas allowed to grow to say, 15cm+ will provide more bulk as
well as nourishing tucker. I will give it a try. Thankyou. Mikesbudget.
