I finally have a new section of fence to grow more vertically, so I started Cucuzza ( sometimes call trombocino) squash. It is in the calabash family and when small is a summer squash. It can grow to 2 ft long or greater and eaten as a winter squash.

I had a major challenge with germination, tried over 20 seeds only got 1 to germinate and now that it is blooming, there are no males at the same time as females. I either have bad seeds or need to know the germination tricks because without a 2nd plant I don't think any blooms will produce.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Happy Gardening !

How old is the plant?
sometimes that happens with young squash plants and you may have to wait a bit..
OR you could cross pollinate it with another squash plant or gourd, your seeds won’t be true to type but your fruit should be.
Cheers.

the plant is about 3 months old. I don't have any other squash growing so I guess I am just going to have to hope for dumb luck

Most plants have a pretty strong desire to reproduce so I hope you do get some squash after all!
