I've missed the updates for this thread and have just seen it.

Sounds like you need to build some more cages Jenni, like maybe another 4? .... that way you can have more control over your expanding flock? herd? gaggle? of Quails.

LOL @stevo you have read my mind...

Problem I have is 11 quail is not enough if you want quail for both eggs and eating. So I recon double the stock is required.

I have 20 eggs in the incubator at the moment and if they successfully hatch I will be in drama.. Was thinking I will have to put them in one of our camping tents as emergency accommodation.. My old man looks like he is up for helping me build another pen over the next month. So may be updates on quail pen # 2...

I reckon it's just natural progression if you're interested in something. As you say, you need to be able to separate them for different reasons.
