Hi, I was wondering if anyone knew what this bug was? When they are around my tomato leaves seem to be more prone to dieing off but I can't tell if its due to the bug or due to some fungal infestation

Any help would be greatly appreciated and will help my choosing a path to try remedying the situation

note: the bugs can fly and I have to be pretty quick to squish them

body style looks like the green leaf hopper , part of the Cicadellidae family they suck sap out of leafs and stems and some can carry various plant diseases. one disease is called beet curly top virus and causes leaf curl and brown just like you show just like you show on your plants. the hind legs are modified so the can jump real good. get yourself a bunch of ladybugs - lacewings to get rid of them or you can spray with safers soap or PyGanic( its organic )
