Hi guys, just wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere to buy 2 year old Asparagus crowns (around 25), and when they would be ready for purchase? I've been looking everywhere online and can't seem to find any, cheers:thumbsup:

I don't think you'll get 2yr old crowns in Australia Andy.
Its a very old fashioned way of selling them and due to the extra cost of a years worth of care and possible losses, no business wants to take on the cost.
Also it makes them too expensive for most gardeners.
Unfortunately you'll have to bite the bullet and grow them on yourself. ;)

    Hey Andy,

The only place I have seen 2 year old crowns were on Facebook Marketplace but haven't seen any in a while.

I bit the bullet (as ClissAT has said) and bought 1 year old crowns from Bunnings.
As Gardeners, I think patience is a love/hate thing :p

    Good-luck!

If you don't mind me asking - Where did you end of sourcing them from? (I assume you mean't you found 2 year old crowns?)

    Cheers! Thanks for the info.
I'll be sure to check them out in the future.

I'm still trying to find the best sites online for ordering.
I've only used Diggers so far.

Green Harvest are at Maleny incase anybody is on the Sunshine Coast.
Their farm is well worth a visit to see an organic farm in full production.
Also great views from the turnoff to their place. Quite near where I used to live.
The other thing worth looking at there is their shop building which is a rammed earth construction.
There's a local builder up there who does a very nice construction using earth from his own property.
