I'll give that a go, never built anything so big before though so will be a challenge.
I had initially thought of taking the metal frames off and then slotting the windows into some wood pieces I could cut slots in. But guess that's a little fiddly.
Yeah I tried growing mushrooms from bunnings too many years ago now and I couldn’t figure out how moist to keep it, they said to mist it a few time’s a day and we did but the soil still dried out then became hydrophobic. They look amazing though!! I’ve always wanted to grow oyster mushrooms.
I have some young mascovy ducks if your interested in south west VIC. They are quieter then normal ducks and they are prolific layers you get an egg a day easy from them and are fantastic mothers and great meat birds too. Message me if your interested.
The protein that they use in the quail food is just meat meal or fish meal which is made from the leftover bits of fish, cows, pigs and other animals (NOT poultry) ground up and dried so you could just supplement some grain with some chopped up mince or something like that maybe if you are...
Hi Everyone,
I have a bunch of old windows laying around and I'm thinking of turning them into a glass house, anyone got any advice or know how I could go about it? Would I take the windows out of their old frames and put them together with new pieces of wood or should I leave the old frames on?
I just bought 50 bulbs of garlic to plant. Nervous and excited! Fingers Crossed I don't kill them all!
Anyone else planting in Victoria Region? when do you usually plant?
I have seen quite a few people use semi-composted wood mulch on garden beds, wood mulch would probably work fine but smaller seeds like carrots and lettuce might have a hard time pushing up through it I would think.
I have also started a quail tractor a few days ago , 90x45s that I rip sawed into 4 pieces so I had 22.5x45s I used them for the gram with 45x45 posts. It’s super light and quite surprisingly solid!
I recently finished building my chicken tractor for my chickens. I used a bunch of 90x45s pine and rip sawed them into 45x45s. The tractor is 1m x 2m and had a rollaway nesting box that I used old fence posts nailed in at an angle to make. Still have to put in the extra wall to separate the...
I have a bunch of Weck jars I was lucky to land at Aldi a while back they are perfect for fermenting nice open wide top and can be a range of sizes, you can get proper fermenting lids for them but I just put the lid on loosely without the clips and never had an issue. You can buy these glass...
Which nipples do you use? I’ve had trouble finding ones my quail chick and chicks can get water out of. I just got a guinea pig waterer today and it seems to work well but they do take up a bit of room.
