    Harvested the oca

    Had a couple of frosts and the top die right off, ended up with a lot more then i expected they have been wash and now drying on the table. A few people in my area want to grow them next year more then happy to give them some, to many for us at home to get though.

    Thought i would show off the Sussex there a duel purpose bird we rotate them out at 3 year and we breed 3 or 4 times a year and give away for a small donation or process the ones we don't want for egg laying at about 4 1/2 to 5 months old. There a great bird to have in your flock.

    We have had a bumper couple of crops of carrots this year they just keep growing, I've given away heaps to neighbors and friends, with just the 3 of us at home now 1 carrot lasts for 3 to 4 days.

    i had so many mushrooms flushing at the same time QLD, Tan and Yellow oyster mushrooms will dehydrate these for later use in soup and stews and tonight mushroom risotto and a Asian style mushroom soup for lunch tomorrow :)
