I've been watching your videos for a while and finally realised I could join your forums. I have recently built a passive solar house on a hectare which was mostly weeds that I'm gradually transforming into productive garden and natives. The biggest problem I have is 6 large poplars that have very invasive roots but are the only trees I have until the ones I have planted grow

G'Day and welcome.

Good luck with the transformation of the patch.

Welcome. I am in Collie, so almost next door...
You have a nice large block to use there, I envy you, but understand your problem with the poplars. Dada loved them and I remember them growing up, trying to mow the lawn, the roots got bigger every year almost like Morton bay figs. I am sure you will find a way around it, but maybe hear them some raised beds and next spring put your pumpkins in there. Everyone says you need lots of sun, but this year I found that my pumpkin was planted in the sun but rambled into the fruit trees and the best pumpkins were under the apple tree and hanging in the cherry tree.
Anyway, good luck and have fun.
