folks,

Thought Id post up a few pictures of this years garden. The netting is to protect from bird, squirrels and in some cases insects.

Daniel, Thanks for the compliment. Last year our tomato plants produced approx 250 lbs of tomatoes. Plenty of tomato sauce, salsa, tomato salads, etc...and also supplied some of our neighbours.
Growing your own organics fruits and veggies is well worth the effort as I'm sure you know.

Daniel, Not sure if you are growing potatoes or not but one of those bins is 68 liters and I planted 4 store bought potatoes that had sprouted in it. The trick is to only load the bin about 1/2 with compost when planting and then continue to add more soil as the foliage gets higher. Based on the results a chap managed in the UK that bin could produce 25 or so pounds of potatoes based on this size container versus the 30 liter containers he was using. I'll add a link for the video if I can find it.

Here's the link:-

Cheers for the link. I’ll check it out. I’ve heard of this method and I’ve tried it once with homemade timber stacking boxes - but with no success. Maybe I’ll give it another go this year!
