Well with all the things going on currently, I borrowed a post digger from a friend, we have clay soil so i thought I might be in for a rough ride, but the test hole was awesome, we are going to be doing 3 small paddocks down the back for the chooks some goats and a surprise :)

While I was at Bunnings Gympie getting lunch of snag and fanta I asked the people running today's snag stall (Curra fishing club) if they knew of you.
Got a negative reply because in the heat of the moment I couldn't remember your name! :dunno:
My brain has the grest nack of letting me down at the most inopportune moments!

Your recent fencing activity is certainly making a rapid difference.

Wow Ray, you certainly have been busy! All coming along very nicely.

Something I discovered about chooks free ranging is they won't unless they feel safe from overhead predation.
Once I had modified my fence line to include a big old Brazilian cherry, they immediately went 3times as far away.
They were able to rest under the cherry during the heat of the day, use it as a halfway stop for longer trips to the end of their run and soon had the soil loose enough around it to dust bathe in complete safety. The tree had branches that were almost on the ground making it quite wide with lots of hidy holes in among the branches. The tree was about 4 m tall and wide and quite thickly leafed. Right up the ally for chooks.
Prior to having access to that tree, they never left the surrounds of their shed.
There were 2 other smaller Brazilian cherries that I gave them also. Some chooks would go there but others preferred not.

The other thing they loved was when I made the big compost heap in their run under the mulberry tree.

:) These guys are out and about everyday now which is lovely to watch we spend quite a bit of time just sitting and watching them lol
there are quite a few higher tree's in the run and a heap of logs and around the back of the run there is a huge pile of leaves and junk they love playing in there all day, plenty of little things to eat :)
We get quite an array of native birds in also which i am liking very much,
working on the goat run today, hang the gate and work on their stable
