You can swap out Katek for most other good chook manure based pelletized fertilizer.
But the general information is valuable.

What they wrote about growing snowpea is probably why mine don't perform so well.

I'll be paying more attention to my roses after reading this newsletter.
I am currently repotting them but not giving that much fertilizer.

Katek is made on an old duck farm I was going to buy a bit northwest of Gympie.
I don't know how far and wide their distribution goes.
Certainly it is available in Qld.
But in other parts of Australia, there would be some sort of equivalent chook manure product.
They are all quite similar these days.

Last year I got a sample from them at the Sunshine coast garden show which was their shaker bottle.
It's been very convenient having it to shake a few pellets onto a plant pot or single plant in the garden.
I buy their organic chook manure pellets in the 20kg bag regularly and used to keep an icecream container of pellets handy for the house plants.
But the rodents also enjoyed having that container of pellets handy at feed time!
Now I refill the shaker so the rodents can go find dinner some other place!

I got a shaker bottle from them too :) use it to sprinkle some fertiliser around some plants then my dog came behind me as was eating it I looked online briefly at their site but will look more. There chook manure pellets seem to have more in them than some of the others around.

I have a couple of metal bins I put bits in that the rodents can’t eat through :)

Well it was my first garden show so I thought it was pretty good. I felt like a kid in a lolly shop :) Not as many fruit trees as I expected. Lots of different fertilisers. Hoselink was there with a special on a 30m hose which I bought, not a retractable one at this stage that is going to be a birthday present later in the year :) Also bought their longer shower wand which is great.

Lots of lectures and honestly you could have gone to them all but with only one day there and lots to look at I had to pick and choose. We went to 2 fruit tree related seminars one was a Q&A. I videoed most of them as it was loaded with great info. Hubby enjoyed the day as well. :)

Hoselink gave me a retractable hose... on the pretense that I review the product and do a video (still in the pipeline) - I actually had purchased one already (but haven't installed it) and also have the watering gun on my veggie garden hose but their social media manager said they have upgraded the retractable model and made several improvements so she sent me out another one - now I've got two - must install them soon!

I can say that after going through half a dozen or so cheaper watering guns that my Hoselink one has lasted the longest by far and still going - very good quality, especially since I use bore water.

Check it - yours truly with another video acting a goat...

I watched that one :)

Get a move on with the review on the hoselink retractable hose :p

The hoselink hose we bought really shows up how bad our old cheap ones were.

I am soooooo snowed under... I have to install Birdies raised beds first (in that front section of our patch) and see if I can still get a few more cooler crops in before it starts getting too hot again. Then I should have time to install the hoses and give them a working out - I'm still a keen hand waterer - especially through winter in the subtropics with our beautiful weather it's great walking around checking out the plants and the beds don't dry out very fast at this time of year so we only water once or twice a week anyway.
