I'll give that a go, never built anything so big before though so will be a challenge. I had initially thought of taking the metal frames off and then slotting the windows into some wood pieces I could cut slots in. But guess that's a little fiddly.

I think they are just regular windows, they have aluminium frames.

Yeah I tried growing mushrooms from bunnings too many years ago now and I couldn’t figure out how moist to keep it, they said to mist it a few time’s a day and we did but the soil still dried out then became hydrophobic. They look amazing though!! I’ve always wanted to grow oyster mushrooms.

I have some young mascovy ducks if your interested in south west VIC. They are quieter then normal ducks and they are prolific layers you get an egg a day easy from them and are fantastic mothers and great meat birds too. Message me if your interested.

The protein that they use in the quail food is just meat meal or fish meal which is made from the leftover bits of fish, cows, pigs and other animals (NOT poultry) ground up and dried so you could just supplement some grain with some chopped up mince or something like that maybe if you are...

Hi Everyone, I have a bunch of old windows laying around and I'm thinking of turning them into a glass house, anyone got any advice or know how I could go about it? Would I take the windows out of their old frames and put them together with new pieces of wood or should I leave the old frames on?

I just bought 50 bulbs of garlic to plant. Nervous and excited! Fingers Crossed I don't kill them all! Anyone else planting in Victoria Region? when do you usually plant?

I have seen quite a few people use semi-composted wood mulch on garden beds, wood mulch would probably work fine but smaller seeds like carrots and lettuce might have a hard time pushing up through it I would think.

That’s great advice! I’m hoping to plant a lot this year to sell at a farmers market. Do you know where you can buy bulk garlic seeds?

I have a vanilla bean plant in my house in Victoria for about 2 years so far and it’s not quite 2.5m yet! Can’t believe I have to wait till it’s 4m!
