For all you guys in SE Qld, this is one event that has just taken off since it started 5 years ago. FFF has had unprecedented patronage because of its family friendly environment not too far away from the big smoke, and yet removed enough to enjoy the sights (and tastes) of rural life.
Lots of food stalls, lots of food production stalls, great food preparation presentations, including Matt Golinski, as well as self-sufficiency/sustainability information for everyone (small and large scale). They had ancient (1800-early 1900s) contraptions to show us how they got corn kernels off cobs, steam engines and as usual presentations on livestock - something in it for kids, hobby farmers and primary producers.
Definitely worth the trip out, the only down side being the incredible traffic in and out of the venue. One road leading in making a considerable bottle neck - we arrived just after 9.30am (it opened at 9am) and cars were crawling in from over a kilometre away.
Got some photos to share on the event, but the highlight for all of us was to catch up with Costa the gardener (Gardening Australia on ABC, in case you weren't aware of him) after seeing him at the Toowoomba Royal Show a few days prior...
