Hi everyone,

I am a young 19 year old grower from Sydney.
I have been gardening for a little over a year, mostly winter vegetables,
although this spring i have started some all sweet watermelons, blueberries and my standard white onions (started those a couple months ago).

Side note- How expensive are white onions in stores !!

How are you handling the dry conditions? Do you have a good water supply? Any pictures of your setup?

The dry winter was tough on my plants. I lost a few cabbages to it. Luckily where i am in the southern part of Sydney (close to Wollongong), there has been a bit more rain. I will take some pictures of my small set up :)

A good reason to grow your own... Not only that but you can try many different varieties that are not sold in stores!

Anyway, welcome to SSC! :) I get a thrill when I hear or read about young people getting into food gardening at home - it really makes my day.

Bronwyn, for whatever it is worth, I started veggie garden as a young lad in western Sydney, lots of summers ago. Best of luck with it; I am sure you will get all the camaraderie and support here.
