We are here to learn as much as we can. Becoming more self sufficient is our goal. Currently we have a small veggie and herb garden. This year we will grow vertically to get more variety and a greater yield. Tried our hand at starting from seeds and are very pleased with the result. We also have rhubarb, blackcurrant gooseberry and raspberry bushes. Sadly we can't have chickens or bees due to town restrictions. We look forward to learning as much as we can as we will be entering the retirement stage of our lives and our plan is to move to the country and there continue our self sufficiency goals (which will include a few critters).

Welcome Woodlea!

Something I just don't seem to get properly organised are my bramble vines!
Try as I might, they end up all over the place so I can't tell this year's from last year's and which will bear fruit and which to cut off!
I've tried several different methods from trellising to bunching or making them into bushes.
In the end they all look the same.....brambles!!
The biggest issue with them not ending up tidy is I can't net them successfully to prevent birds munching.

Sadly we can't have chickens or bees due to town restrictions.
That is unfortunate but at least you can grow food so there's always a positive! Thanks for joining SSC :)
