Question Citrus & Onions in Compost?

I just saw a short segment on the tv about composting and they said not to add citrus or Onions to your compost. I’ve been adding both to my Compost Tumbler, is it bad?

    My Raised Garden Bed

No the top and sides are chicken wire. It won't keep moths out. I chose to concentrate on larger animals. Netting won't stop a raccoon.
